I wanted to leave a review to say that without your help, guidance and validation I wouldn’t have been as strong. I am glad I found you and reached out- having somebody not linked was so beneficial. It was the biggest help and start I could have had ready for difficult conversations, so thank you. I may still need occasional sessions in the future however I felt it was an important time to reach out. Thank you again, J
Rachael has been such a help to me on many occasions. It’s sometimes just about having somebody to talk to whether anything is resolved or not. Always understanding and empathetic. Often gives me food for thought.
I found Rachael online and it was the best thing I did. Rachael helped me find my way forward, offering support and encouragement throughout our sessions. Am so thankful to her for helping me find clarity through a difficult time in life. Helen
Rachael was fantastic from the start. We as a couple felt relaxed & at ease in her company. She is so likeable but professional. Thank you Rachael.
Rachael is great, lovely style that puts you at ease and makes it very easy to open up and work things through. We have benefited greatly from spending time with her.
Rachael was really welcoming and I gained a lot from the experience with her. I wanted a counsellor that could challenge my beliefs and help me understand my thoughts better and she did just that. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone. Thanks!
This was my first experience of counselling and had some reservations. However, Rachael was very easy to talk with. Had understanding, empathy and was able to communicate in ways that helped me with who I am. Would highly recommend.
Rachael helped me immensely through a very difficult period after the break up of my marriage. She is incredibly patient and gave me the time and space to work through my feelings without judgement. I would recommend Rachael to anyone who needs someone to talk to who will really listen.
Rachael has been an amazing listener & has helped me realise things about myself which have really pushed my life in a positive direction. I would recommend Rachael's services to anyone going through a hard time. Thanks again Rachael for your continued support.
I don’t know where to start with this review. I have never opened up to anyone In my life, Rachael guided me through my many issues and she helped me to open up. I have told Rachael things that I had never even said out loud before, she created a really safe comfortable space for me to talk and I didn’t feel like I was being judged. If you have issues and you want a counsellor it’s simple… choose Rachael Blackmore! Best decision I ever made :-)
I was going through a difficult time and was struggling to make sense of it all. From my initial session with Rachael, she offered a safe space to talk through my problems and listened with empathy. I have been able to deal with a bereavement which has taken me 15 years to come to terms with, as well as recent bereavements, and has also allowed me to better understand myself. Thank you.
I previously saw someone for a few months before Rachael and was getting no where.
I only had a few sessions with Rachael and she taught me a lot about myself and a lot of new interesting words to help me out, with knowing myself. In such sort time she made me understand and remember who I am and I was back.
If I ever become confused or feel lost or even need to grieve or anything! I know who to come too and will recommend to anyone! Very intelligent, strong woman.
Rachael was warm, understanding and patient with us during our sessions. She allowed us time to talk with each other as well as with her, all in a safe space. I could not recommend her highly enough! Thank you Rachael!
It was my first time having counselling after facing a bereavement and then a relationship breakdown, Rachel made me feel completely at ease, it was a very positive experience for me and now I feel able to move on and focus on the positives to go into the next chapter of my life Thank you Rachel
During lockdown I had my own personal issues and needed to sort my thoughts and feelings out Rachael was kind, compassionate, highly skilled and really helped me gain perspective. It made me think about my behaviour the way I react and what was going on, which in turn put me in a better place. Eternally grateful x Thank you Rachael x
Rachael offered a safe space for me to explore my life after a tragic bereavement and I really saw the value in being able to talk freely about all aspects of this. Her practice room was warm and inviting which made the experience a little easier, and I left each session feeling a tiny bit lighter. It's been about a year since our first session and life is a lot better for me now - I truly believe having counselling propelled me into making positive changes and rebuilding my life, so all my thanks goes to Rachael!
Rachael as soon as we met her put us at ease. She allowed time and space for us both to answer thought provoking questions that on our own we would have squabbled through. We never expected to find ourselves in the situation that we did but Rachael guided us through, together, and without prejudice. She helped us look into what both of us were feeling and how to listen to one another, something we thank her greatly for. We know that we can always rely on Rachael in the future to help keep us on track and guide us gently through what life throws at us.
I have never tried counselling before but Rachael really put me at ease and made me comfortable instantly. At each session we looked at ways for me to cope better with difficult situations and to navigate a way through to feeling more in control and less worried and stressed. I always left my sessions feeling like there was a way forward and I had a new outlook on a particular problem or situation.
I was very pleased to find Rachel. Working with her was immensely helpful and insightful. I felt listened to and she always remembered what we’d spoken about in previous sessions. I was able to work through a number of issues with her and learnt new things I had not previously considered. I look forward to working with her again in future and trust her completely.
After going through a period of intense stress, family issues and a recent diagnosis of anxiety, I began seeing Rachael. She immediately put me at ease, and her insight into the issues I was facing was invaluable, allowing me to come out of each session feeling like a real weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I then came back for a few top-up sessions following a stressful few months during the coronavirus pandemic, and again, Rachael helped me to work through the issues I was facing and see them from a different perspective. I can't recommend her highly enough, and I wouldn't hesitate to book another appointment if I felt I needed additional support in future.
Thank you for help Rachel. I had a few sessions with Rachel when I was experiencing some difficult times and could not clearly understand the problems I was experiencing. She really helped understand the problems and my feelings around them. She was able to quickly and effectively make the problems much clearer and help understand them and think about them in a positive and clear way. she then helped me develop the tools and processes I needed to work to resolve them. My life was getting very stressful and upsetting because the issues but by helping me take control the stress quickly reduced and I was able to work through problems calmly and get to the solutions i needed. Rachel is very understanding and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her and have already done so.
I was really sceptical about how a counsellor could help me but Rachael completely changed my view after the first session and helped put everything into perspective. She saved our marriage. Highly recommend.
Rachel is such a kind warming person, she makes me feel relaxed and comfortable. She is very professional and makes me feel at ease. Before I went to my first appointment I was so worried about being judged and only saying certain things etc, how wrong I was, Rachel just listened and understood how I felt, and made me feel somewhat normal. I will continue to use Rachel as support, it now feels like I’m going to see a friend who listens and encourages me to overcome whatever obstacles come my way and have been in my way in the past and hold over me now. Thank you Rachel you are amazing! X
Rachael was amazing helping me through several events causing me so much pain and following our sessions i have been able to move forwards in life. I'm so glad I attended sessions with Rachael as she is an amazing counsellor and felt at ease at my appointments. Highly recommend Rachael Blackmore and I'm so glad i found her in my time of need.
I contacted Rachael after experiencing a sudden close bereavement in 2017 and after engaging with another counsellor with whom I did not feel comfortable. Rachael had a completely different approach to the other counsellor and instantly put me at ease with my thoughts and feelings, allowing me to be myself in a safe environment. Rachael listens without fear of judgement, asks open questions which provokes thoughtful answers and helps explore areas which would otherwise be left hidden. I always felt as though I could say anything to Rachael, no matter how unorthodox the topic or situation and we often explored subjects far beyond the initial reason for my sessions. Rachael supported my journey through the darkness of bereavement for 18 months and she has enabled me to continue working through my thoughts one day at a time, looking towards the future. I could not recommend her skills, experience and approach highly enough.
I am delighted to be able give a wholehearted recommendation to Rachael. She helped me enormously and I always left our meetings feeling optimistic. Rachael listens attentively, has a way of putting you at your ease and makes you feel your difficulties really are surmountable. Five stars!
Rachel is a patient listener and analysed my challenges very quickly. She has a calming influence to rationalise my pent up feelings! Our sessions were never rushed & Rachael made herself available at a wide range of appointment times in relaxing surroundings. She was never judgemental. Always on time & I feel confident to recommend her.
Brilliant counsellor, makes you feel very comfortable and listens really well :-)
I would highly recommend Rachael, I felt listened to and that she just ‘got it’ at a time when I was feeling very few people in my life did. I was able to explore my feelings and relationships in a safe and non-judgmental space whilst being supported throughout.
Rachael helped me at a really difficult time in my life. I am so grateful to her for expertly using her knowledge, skills and experience to help me move forward to a much better place within myself.
Rachael is so professional, caring and amazing and has helped so much. I am so lucky to of had her in my trauma.
Rachael has actually got me out of bed when I am sombre to go to work our chats have been so good.
I am only still working because of how good she is with me and actually showing up and doing what I can. She is so kind
Counselling saved my life, my family time and has been the glue to a broken heart. If every teenager had a chance to sit with her for even just an hour they would take something from it because she has not just the qualifications but the people skills, love and compassion that can never be learned but she has them naturally.
Rachael is Easy to talk to, very professional, made me feel at ease and was non judgemental. Had very good constructive comments and helped me with my problems. Would highly recommend her.
I came to Rachel because I was experiencing severe distress following the death of a loved one. When you’re in the midst of grief, it’s really hard to figure out what’s happening around you. Are you upset with someone because you’re (understandably) over-emotional, or is what they’ve done something you should really be upset about? Rachel helped me see my situation clearly which enabled me to make positive life changes. She was warm, easy to talk to and very good at listening.
I have seen Rachael and I think she’s wonderful, kind friendly and very approachable. I felt in very good hands when I saw her. I highly recommend Rachael. I first saw Rachael after having been diagnosed with cancer and life in general was incredibly difficult, she helped me to realise what I needed to do to feel more in control of my own happiness and wellbeing. I would definitely see her again in the future if I needed to she was great x
Before seeing Rachael, I had had a pretty negative experience with counselling. I didn't get on with CBT and was left unsatisfied with NHS services. My anxiety was out of control and having yoyoed on and off medication, I was in desperate need of a solution. Rachael was so easy to talk to and after a couple of sessions, I felt I had known her for years. She offered a fresh perspective, and helped me to unravel the complex entanglement of my relationships with my family, and to understand issues that had plagued me for years. She made me realise what was making me so unhappy. After seeing Rachael, I feel back in control of my own life and I can enjoy things that once caused me so much stress. I cannot thank her enough for her insight, guidance and advice. I would have no hesitation in recommending her or giving her a call if I needed her support in the future.
Rachael helped me so much during a difficult time in my life. I was sceptical about counselling and whether it was right for me but I’m so glad I reached out to her. She has an ability to make you feel relaxed and allow you to open up in a friendly and calming environment. There was no judgement and her advice and guidance was supportive and understanding. She uncovered things I didn’t know about myself and I am so grateful for her help.I also know that she is always there on the end of the phone if I need her guidance again. I can’t recommend Rachael enough.
After starting to read this book with a little skepticism I was delighted to discover that the author had written with a refreshing down to earth approach. The book was informative and throws around ideas that when put into practice actually work! An easy, enjoyable read, with useful ‘tips’ to carry with you in everyday life.. I would heartily recommend this read to someone looking for ways to improve a relationship.
Not ever met a councillor before I was very curious as to how the sessions would go. I think what Rachel does is relax you does not judge and is very open. Having somebody that you do not know allows you to be honest without fear of any criticism. Would recommend Rachel to others.
This is a stunning book; concise, positive and joyous. The text is beautifully presented and elevating. A fantastic choice for those seeking answers in life's rich tapestry. Highly recommended.
Fascinating read giving you so many insights not only on romantic relationships, but all your interactions as a woman, a mum, a friend or a partner. I'll definitely keep referring to it as it makes so much sense. Thoroughly recommend it.
Going to Rachael was one of the best things I have done she made me feel at ease from the moment I sat down. I liked that she allowed me to lead the conversation I felt comfortable crying in front of her (which I did a lot of ) she just let the sessions flow at my speed. Rachael helped me more than anyone else at a time when I felt lost and I will be forever grateful to her. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
This book gave me a valuable insight in my relationships with others and really made me think about my own self worth.
Having tried counselling once before and not feeling at all comfortable I was hesitant to try again. I'm so glad I did! after just one session I felt so at ease, I never feel like I'm being judged or looked down on when talking about things no matter how bad they may be! Rachael really has helped me to look at things from a different perspective, I feel much more positive about things than I have done in a very long time. I also like the fact you lead the conversation rather than being bombarded with questions and pushing, you can very much go at your own pace. I would highly recommend Rachael to anyone that is looking for a caring highly committed person to talk to.
This book is such an easy read and simplifies what I thought was a complicated process. It makes finding love seem so easy.
A very interesting read full of ‘smack in the face light bulb moments’ blinding obvious when it’s there in black and white!!! The missing piece of life’s jigsaw.
Admitting you need help is a hard thing to do but Rachel made me feel at ease and I felt completely comfortable with her. She doesn’t judge you, she listens and talking things through helped me deal with my situation. I would recommend Rachel and I know I can go back and see her at any point if I feel I need to.
Rachael has been a great help, allowing me to explore all the relevant issues relating to my concern. I felt able to share my problems without feeling anxiety or being judged. I feel I have made real progress during our counselling sessions and Rachael has equipped me with some of the tools to continue this progress. I feel much more positive about life since speaking to her. Highly recommended.
Being a child of the 60's I was rather sceptical of seeing a therapist. However, Rachael soon put me at ease very quickly with her calm, considerate non judgemental approach. Rachael was able to put a perspective on issues which helped me put issues to bed, which had been bugging me for years.
Rachael was wonderful to work with, patient, understanding and able to give excellent advise and coping mechanisms. I’d been suffering from depression, anxiety and trauma problems for a while which culminated in an attempted suicide in March 2018. Through Rachael’s methods and counselling, I now have the skills and tools to fight off these feelings. The transformation in my life is incredible. I can’t thank Rachael enough.
Just want to say a big thank you to Rachael Blackmore. I recently went through a break up. Instead of moping around I decided to look for help to address the issues that led to the break up. Not knowing what to expect on the first session, it was more than I expected. A great place to open up and discuss how to improve myself.
I have only ever visited one counsellor ... I am so grateful it was Rachael. She undoubtedly has the experience, skills and knowledge necessary, but much more than this, she is perceptive, clear-sighted and above all, profoundly empathetic. She listens, intuitively understands complex issues, and delivers counselling in a non-judgemental, non-prescriptive way, which goes straight to the heart of the matter. Rachael's experience and intellect, combined with her innate humanity, give her the ability to initiate very real positive changes and insight. I am very grateful to Rachael for helping me with my own personal crisis; I thoroughly recommend her to anyone seeking genuine and effective guidance.
Rachel was great to work with, very supportive and helped me to understand my thoughts and feelings. The consultancy environment was very comfortable and relaxed. I found it very easy to make progress quickly with her experience and knowledge. I would definitely use Rachel in the future and recommend to anybody in need of support.
Where to begin! Racheal is the best counsellor I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. She’s a good listener, kind and not judgmental. But most importantly she’s calm, no matter how big or small you feel the issue you face is Rachael has the ability to make you see and understand how to fix it. Her passion for her work and zest for life really shines through and I don’t know where I’d be without her. I’d highly recommend her. Thank you for everything Rachael.
Rachael possess good insight and has the ability to help me identify areas that are causing me concern, as well as offer constructive advice on how to deal with them.Rachael is an extremely good listener who gives off an air of empathy that I find both soothing and enables more free and easy communication.
Rachael has been a wonderful support for me through my tough times and is now a firm template in my diary. As I need to vent on a regular basis I needed somebody who can sit and listen and advise me and go through options in life. I wouldn’t know where I would be without her. Thank you for wonderful advice and support. You are truly fabulous. xxx
Rachael is a truly wonderful counsellor and I'm so glad I found her. Not only is Rachael a great listener, but she is also incredibly insightful. Just through talking to her about my issues, she is able to offer answers and carefully thought out solutions. I'm so glad I found Rachael and highly recommend her.
Rachael, thank you so much for helping me sort through things and put everything into perspective, especially my relationship with my husband. Best wishes, K
I felt listened to rather than sympathised with. I didn’t feel judged in any way and felt that the questions raised questioned my own perceptions and enabled me to view myself differently. I felt I was able to talk freely as Rachael’s openness enabled this. Her genuineness shone through
I have found Rachael to be an empathetic, patient and compassionate counsellor. Rachael has enabled me to talk through my issues without fear of judgement and gain an understanding of what measures I can act upon to overcome these. My outlook on life has improved tremendously and I cannot thank Rachael enough for her kindness and support. Although moving forward, I will also miss her!
I started to see Rachael in September 2017 when I had got signed off sick for stress at work, she made me feel so comfortable from day one and helped me to understand what my issues actually are and has helped me find solutions to making my life better. Just a few months on I feel like a new person with a purpose in life now thanks to Rachael. I would recommend Rachael to anyone who is feeling lost or just needs someone to talk to.

I contacted Rachael after a series of unsuccessful dates. I decided I needed to change the way I was doing things. Her course has helped me to look at myself and what I want for my future. Lots of things have come up along the way which Rachael has helped me work through. The course requires effort and self examination. Support from Rachael is always on hand. The main thing I would say is that I now look positively at my future. I was in a rush to meet someone. Now I am prepared to wait until I meet someone worth committing to. I believe that will happen.
This has been the best money I've ever spent! It's a process which in itself is tremendously worthwhile. It's not a 'product' to me in that I am not buying an end product. It's worth it for the process I'm going through.
Thank you
Catherine
Rachael helped me through a very difficult time, after facial surgery went wrong and I lost all my confidence and was struggling to leave the house and face people in public. She is very caring and compassionate and non judgmental, she listened to all my fears and previously unspoken feelings on lots of subjects and encouraged me to voice them. After my sessions with Rachael I feel I am a lot more assertive and actually realise I am aloud to say no to people and put myself first, although I’ve put my sessions on hold now, I am confident that should I need her again she will always be there. I can’t thank her enough for helping me find myself again.Paula
Thank you so much for everything that you have done for me without you I wouldn’t have got past this stage and honestly I’m so happy that you were so understanding and easy to talk to about anything and everything. Thank you so much.

From the first session to the last, Rachael made me feel comfortable and relaxed, to be able to express myself without judgement. It didn't take long to build up a rapport with her, which made me feel all the more comfortable. The sessions felt informal and not regimented, it felt like I was chatting to a caring friend, and learnt so much about myself and others, which helped me immensely to sort out my issues.
Rachael is very professional but more importantly, she cares and I truly can't thank her enough.
Looking forward to the next one, thanks to everyone for making it a very enjoyable experience.
Really great event. Was such a relief to have a grown up time and chance to chat. Thanks Rachael Blackmore !! I really enjoyed it and definately would go again. As someone who went on their own everyone was very welcoming and friendly.
It was a really good event. Much better to do something different! Look forward to future events xxx Big thanks to Rachael
Thank you Rachael - it was so much fun! What a lovely group of people! Looking forward to the next one
Hearing about Finding Mr Darcy has been a catalyst for me to change. I've changed my outlook on dating and most importantly started thinking about what I want. This has led to me setting my own boundaries and sticking to them rather than bending them to please others. Thank you Rachael for starting the conversation and organising events for like minded people. I for one am feeling positive about this journey
I will certainly consider having counselling again if need be (hopefully not). My relationships and feelings of anxiety have improved since coming to see Rachael. RP
I felt listened to rather than sympathised with. I didn’t feel judged in any way and felt that the questions raised questioned my own perceptions and enabled me to view myself differently. I felt I was able to talk freely as Rachael’s openness enabled this. Her genuineness shone through. SP
Rachael is extremely sensitive, attentive and empathetic, and is obviously passionate about her work helping people. She's very easy to talk to, and works hard to build a trusting relationship with her clients. She's fantastic support whatever the issue - she really cares and you couldn't want for a better person to talk to.
The biggest challenge I faced in 2016 which is when I started my sessions with Rachael, was that I had turned 40 the year prior and taken a three month sabbatical through the summer. So far, so privileged! However even after just my first two sessions with Rachael, I think I had hit the nail on the head. With her help to focus my thoughts I realised that I had lost focus on my life and with the milestone of turning 40 and achieving a goal that I had been working towards since I turned 30 having taken up most/ all of my thoughts combined with a successful career, I hadn't really focused enough on me.
I was skeptical at first but it felt good to discuss, identify and work through issues in a structured way with Rachael asking questions encouraging me to answer truthfully and look at my life and consider what and how to change it for the positive. Although at first, I felt exposed emotionally I did feel as though I was in a safe pair of hands and one whom I could trust and thought was credible. Over the course of the few weeks Rachael helped me identify the areas I needed to work on and continue to work on.
Rachael helped me to take on the elusive work, life balance and actually make positive changes including a decision to relocate from London to Manchester. With the reading materials and course videos, I was encouraged to develop my mind set to a more postive one and employ that on a day to day basis and realise the power of that.
What Rachael really excelled at was asking very pertinent, personal yet sensitive questions that helped me come to my own conclusions but once i had put those thoughts out there, she helped me organise them and also address any issues that came to light including low self esteem and and a sense of being lost. She introduced coping mechanisms, plus help with analysing why past relationships hadn't worked out.
What I learned is that it isn't just about relationships but how I view myself. Writing the journals and reading the recommended text at first felt alien and time consuming but actually it really helped build on those things i need to work on and identify when I was having a good or a bad day. Grasping the coping mechanisms and employing them in every day life, realising why needed closure and how to try and feel more positively about my last relationship ending was and is a game changer. I'm actually looking forward to dating again!
What's fallen in to place for me is that this is a process and not a quick fix. What Rachael did was provide a catalyst for positive change in my life that involved careful consideration, thought and work. It's not just about finding the one but putting the best version of myself out there and being open to every possibility. Hopefully the bi-product of this in the future will be a successful, fulfilling relationship!
Rachel always made me feel very comfortable & she's very easy to talk to without judgement. I was never very keen on going to speak to someone for some support but it was the best decision I made.
